Tatiana Kosintseva

One half of the Kosintseva sisters who dominated Russian women's chess in the 2000s. Two-time European champion and multiple-time Russian champion.

The Sisters

Tatiana Kosintseva was born on April 22, 1986, in Arkhangelsk, Russia. Together with her sister Nadezhda, also a strong Grandmaster, the Kosintseva sisters were the dominant force in Russian women's chess during the 2000s. Tatiana won the European Individual Women's Championship twice and the Russian Women's Championship three times. Her positional, technically precise style was the perfect complement to her sister's more dynamic approach. Together, they were the backbone of the Russian women's Olympiad team for over a decade.
